Now that it is officially summer, its time to brighten up our wardrobes just like nature has around us! I find that a lot of people are scared of color, especially mixing color. I think that color is one area in fashion where most of the rules can be broken! Like many good combinations in this world, at first people doubted them together. Peanut butter and chocolate, who would have ever thought to put the two together? Well, thank goodness somebody did because I don't think that I could like without that lovely pair. What about french fries and milkshakes? I don't know anybody who doesn't love going to the occasional burger joint and getting a big milkshake and a side of fries. The list of great pairs goes on and on, but the point is, don't be afraid to try the unexpected and play with color!
For my birthday this year, I wanted a very special outfit. So I paired this neon yellow cardigan from American Eagle Outfitters with a purple floral scarf from AEO, a white flowy tank top from Nordstrom and bright blue jeans from American Eagle. The colors are all unexpected, so I played the shows simple with none other than my trusty Rainbows. I think that the best part of this outfit was the scarf, that really tied in all of the contrasting colors and pulled it together for a strong look.
So, don't be afraid to mix with colors! Whats the worst that can happen? A change in an outfit? All that that means is that you get to play again with more clothes:).
